Cutouts

Original

While in Salt Lake I decided to visit Temple Square. I have been there many times, but no matter how many times I've been there this statue is still my favorite place to visit.

"Sabrina"

Date and Time: October 23, 2010; 4:00 pm
Location: Ashland, Oregon
F-stop and Shutter Speed: Both Unknown
Camera: Cannon Digital Rebel XSi
This is my dog back in Oregon and my family got her 12 years ago. My parents just got a new camera and asked me to use it and learn how it works so I could teach them. As I was playing around Sabrina found a sunny spot to keep warm. Whenever I would go to take a picture she would look away, she knew what I was doing and was playing with me. Finally after many attempts she finally stayed where she was and allowed me to take this one good shot.
"Christmas Crystals"

Every year my family goes out into the woods to find the 'perfect tree.' All I had with me was a point and shoot. As we were walking around I noticed the snow and the beauty of it. Using macro I was able capture this shot.
"Stairway to Heaven?"

Date and Time: August 27 2005; 1:30 pm
Location: Kyoto, Japan
F-stop and Shutter Speed: Both Unknown
Camera: Cannon Digital IXUS 50

While on tour of Japan during High School our tour guide took us to this spot. He talked about how the monks are able to walk up this stairway. The moment I saw it my first thought was 'stairway to heaven.'
I decided to position the shot you you can't see the top. I did this so you can think for yourself where these stairs lead.
"Christmas Spirit"

Date and Time: December 20, 2005; 9:00 pm
Location: Ashland, OR

My dad LOVES christmas. Every year he spends hours setting up decorations and showing his christmas spirit. The reason I love this picture so much is that on our street our house was the only house with lights. My dad truly showed everyone how he felt about Christmas.
"Bear Creek"

In my hometown is a creek that many people go to during the summer. I've always been a fan of landscape shots so I thought I'd give this creek a shot. I walked up and down the creek taking pictures, but this one I enjoyed playing with on my computer.

"Smile in the Sky"

Date and Time: August 28, 2005; 9:30 am
Location: Kobe, Japan

Also on my tour of Japan I loved looking at the design of the buildings. After I took this picture I realized that in the top corner was a smiley face. I didn't do anything to the picture to make that smiley, but I liked it a lot. What I love about this picture is you can focus on the smile in the clouds, or the architecture of the building. You get to decide your focus. This was a point and shoot camera.
